What we need you to bring.

Horizon is seeking an open, enthusiastic, experienced Inventory and Quality Control Specialist. Your role involves the day-to-day running of purchasing, inventory management, and quality assurance (QA) inspection of incoming goods. In addition, you will develop and implement the inventory and incoming inspection systems, including the process methodology. You will be responsible for managing the storage, inventory, documentation, and distribution of aerospace parts and materials, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Your Day-to-Day:

Inventory Management



Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of aerospace components, tools, supplies, and materials in compliance with aviation standards (TCCA, FAA regulations). Maintain accurate inventory records using an appropriate inventory management system. Implement and enforce strict stock control processes, ensuring traceability and proper labeling of all items. Coordinate material flow to production and maintenance teams to avoid downtime. Monitor stock levels and reorder critical items to maintain minimum stock levels without overstocking. Manage hazardous materials in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Prepare, analyze, and negotiate Requests for Proposals (RFP) with suppliers as required for the purchase of parts and materials. Compile data from vendor invoices and supporting documents to verify accuracy of billing data and to ensure receipt of items ordered. Maintain documentation verifying that all inventory items are compliant with ITAR guidelines

Purchasing



Source and purchase aerospace good, parts, and materials from appropriate vendors while ensuring compliance with budget, quality and delivery requirements.

Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to optimize budgets while meeting quality targets.

Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with qualified suppliers to ensure on time delivery of required parts, materials, and components.

Conduct vendor due diligence to ensure compliance with ITAR and company requirements.

Manage purchasing documentation workflow according to company accounting processes.

Manage and follow internal approval workflow for all purchasing activities.

Incoming Quality Assurance (QA) Inspection



Inspect incoming materials, parts, and components for conformity to specifications, quality standards, and aerospace industry regulations Review accompanying documentation such as certificates of conformity (CoC), material safety data sheets (MSDS), and test reports Identify and report any non-conforming materials, raising non-conformance reports (NCR) when necessary Maintain detailed inspection records and reports to support traceability Liaise with suppliers to resolve quality issues or discrepancies.

Compliance and Safety



Ensure compliance with all relevant aerospace regulations and quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental practices within the inventory environment Conduct regular audits of inventory and QA processes to identify areas for improvement.

Team Leadership



Supervise and provide guidance to inventory personnel, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement Train staff on inventory management systems, quality inspection techniques, and relevant regulations.
We are looking for people that will have the following qualifications and experiences: Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in a similar role from aerospace. You will have hands-on experience with incoming quality assurance, knowledge of inventory systems, budgets, and strong diplomatic, negotiation / conflict management skills. The right individual for this role will possess an attention to detail and a history of successfully implementing their own ideas into inventory management. Relevant certifications in quality assurance or supply chain (e.g., CQI, CILT) are advantageous.
