Overview


Field & Forge is currently looking for a quality and safety driven individual to work on the production team as a Brewery Quality Control Specialist focused on analytics and sensory. This person must be self-driven, energetic, have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and able to work in a dynamic environment. The quality laboratory is a part of the production team in the brewery and works closely with brewing, packaging, warehouse, and sales teams to meet the high standards we have for our beer.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



Analytical Function:


Perform standardized laboratory tests on in-process and finished beer. Includes but is not limited to running the following methods:

ABV & Gravity Testing Color Analysis Bitterness Analysis VDK Analysis Carbon Dioxide Analysis Dissolved Oxygen Ph measurements Total Dissolved Oxygen Measurement & Calculation Write and Maintain Analytical Methods

General Function:



Maintaining a professional and clean lab/tasting area. Monitor environmental conditions of production areas & warehouse Assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment. Be a daily ambassador for safety in the lab and production areas Assist with Microbiology Update and maintain data produced by the lab and brewery operations. Follow Field & Forge's standard operating procedures and safety measures. Keep accurate records and reports. Continue to develop professionally.

Essential Requirements:



Positive attitude and excellent communication skills Punctual and energetic Flexibility and problem solving skills to contribute to laboratory projects and daily goals. General understanding of laboratory and manufacturing procedures. Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation requirements in the food and beverage industry. Demonstrate passion for beer and brewing. Organized and accurate record keeping. Theoretical knowledge of laboratory equipment, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. Requires handling of hazardous materials, and exposure to complex machinery. Degree in Food Science or a Science related field, 0 - 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Must have a working knowledge of basic statistics. Individual will have good organization, computer and communication skills. Understanding of GMP a plus. Training will be provided as necessary.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
