Job Purpose:

The Inventory Analyst will be responsible to investigate, resolve and report on aged, long, blocked and discontinued (ALBD) inventory in the McCain North American network. The incumbent interacts daily with Warehouse Operations, Supply Planning, Quality Control and Manufacturing Operations. The Inventory Analyst will assist with improving inventory accuracy, as well as lead inventory reduction projects. Will need to have the ability to interface with the following teams; Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, Quality Control, Finance, Manufacturing Operations, Distribution Planning, Demand Planning and Supply Planning. This role reports to the Sr. Manager Inventory & Distribution Planning, North America.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Ownership to reduce and control ALBD inventory levels.
  • Report on and categorize blocked inventory.
  • Identify future expired product and work with internal departments to execute a disposition.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to reduce excess days of inventory.
  • Administration of donations and product write-offs.
  • Ensure all hard-hold batches have a valid McCain status reason code.
  • Make sure all "actionsaEUR happen (dispose/re-casing, and dilution).
  • Assist with tracking re-casing requests at 3PLs through to placing it into active inventory.
  • Identify stranded inventory and work with Deployers to move to a saleable location.
  • Develop and document best practices for handling ALBD inventory.
  • Creation and presentation of status updates in relation to ALBD, to the organization.
  • Lead meetings with departments to make decisions and determine actions for disposition of ALBD product.
  • Make decisions regarding product disposition.
  • Analysis to identify gaps in inventory processes and accuracy.
  • Conduct special assignments and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements:

Academic:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related discipline
Related Work Experience (Internal to the organization or external):
  • Experience with SAP - ECC, APO/SCM preferred.
  • Advanced working competency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to work with complex data.
  • Detail oriented and strong attention for accuracy.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong drive for results and a bias for continuous improvement.
  • Able to evaluate opportunities and respond quickly to changing requirements.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions, and can accurately balance risks with business needs.
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator (both oral and written) with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Project Management preferred.
  • 1 - 5 years of inventory management preferred.
  • Experience in food industry preferred.
