As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics is seeking an eager enthusiastic experienced General Maintenance to join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills in manufacturing.
SUMMARY:
The General Maintenance role will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair equipment in a manufacturing environment. The position will also support in repairing, maintaining, overhauling and installing a variety of machinery, including pumps, motors, grinders, blowers, compressors, presses, injection systems and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. The incumbent will be reporting to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
This is a unionized position - Subject to assessment of skills and qualifications by Active following 60 working days.
The pay rate is $28.04/h \xe2\x80\x93 After probation, the rate will be $28.29/h - Shift Premium where applicable.
Shifts may vary.
Vacancies: 1 Day Shift (7:00am - 3:30pm)
ROLE:

• Assist in the implementation of a rigorous, preventative maintenance program as well as a predictive maintenance program to minimize the plant\xe2\x80\x99s downtime
• Troubleshoot all phases of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems of all plant equipment
• Work alongside, give direction and/or assist outside contractors whom have been hired to assist the organization
• Have a solid understanding and the ability to troubleshoot in-plant equipment
• Dismantle, clean, and re-assemble equipment as needed
• Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up
• Identify and correct any problems found in machines, equipment, or processes in order to facilitate production
• Coordinate and report on all equipment defects and/or failures to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager
• Participate in workplace safety and ensure compliance with all Health and Safety standards in accordance with current legislation and Active Dynamics Health and Safety Policy and best practices
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Good mathematical skills
• Manual dexterity \xe2\x80\x93 ability to use common tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 Industrial Maintenance experience required with preference given to those with a background in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of hydraulic, pumps and compressors, pneumatic and controls, math skills and strong troubleshooting ability
• Ability to understand blueprints and specifications
