The 4-month Law Summer Student will have the opportunity to aid in multiple legal and enterprise projects, including contract review and lifecycle assessment, research on select aeronautical and international commerce issues, regulatory compliance and situational engagement in transactional and legal drafting matters. This could include attending meetings of the legal team and operational teams, building and maintaining legal databases and template libraries, and being a participant on the legal team in a dynamic environment of commercial engagements. The student will also be involved in the process evolution and alignment with new legal and CLM tools and business requirements across departments.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project Milestone/Deliverable Adherence, identifying roadblocks and risks
  • Produce quality governance and reporting
  • Process revisions, creation, and cancellation
  • Support activities related to new IT tools within Engineering
  • Support activities related to roll out of De Havilland Processes and tools across all Programs (Example: PCR Process)
Education and Professional Qualifications
  • Current law student at an accredited Canadian law school
Experience
  • Solid academic performance
  • Previous internship, volunteer, or work experience in a business or legal environment
Skills
  • Excellent Microsoft suite skills
  • Organized, Easy to work with across functions, quick learner, problem solver, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with focus on quality outputs, strong analytical and research skills
