Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Forensic Accounting position in Montreal, Quebec for summer 2023 (May - August).

Job Summary

The Intern, Forensic Accounting is responsible for working under the supervision and guidance of the Forensic Accounting Management team. The incumbent completes assignments related to forensic investigations and data analytics initiatives. The Forensic Accounting team is a group of 4 highly skilled professionals, all with various accreditations and experience including backgrounds in fraud examination, internal and external audit, and I&T. The team is focused on completing and reporting high-quality forensic investigations.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of forensic investigations
  • Extract data from CN's systems and ensure completeness and accuracy of the information
  • Perform investigation steps including data analytics and inspection of documents
  • Evaluate information and provide a preliminary assessment of findings
  • Provide high quality documentation in support of forensic investigations
Requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Time management skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)
  • Experience in data analytics*
Education
  • Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology or areas related to the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) title
*Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
