The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is a national, private, not-for-profit organization committed to high-performance sports excellence. We are the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada and we are responsible for all aspects of Canada's involvement in the Olympic Movement, including participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games.
The COC is seeking a dynamic individual to join its communications team. This position will be responsible for supporting sport and corporate communications. The intern will be crafting communications for internal and external stakeholders, performing project management tasks for multiple projects and other communications initiatives, while assisting with administrative duties.
LOCATION
This internship will be located in the COC office in Montreal, QC at 500 Boul. Rene-Levesque, 2nd Floor or our Toronto office located at 250 Yonge Street, Suite 3000, Toronto, Ontario, M5B 2L7. We offer a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES
The successful candidate's primary responsibility is to support the Communications team's operations, assisting with logistics, research, and drafting materials.
Assist in drafting communications intended for internal and external stakeholders, including members of the international sports community
Assist with logistics and onsite support for events such as photoshoots, press conferences, FanFest
Assist with pre-Games support, press releases, media advisories, and team announcements
Assist with media research, media monitoring, maintaining media data base, earned media reporting and triaging incoming media requests
Presentation (PowerPoint) design
Administrative tasks and other responsibilities, as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS
Must
be enrolled in a Canadian degree or diploma program in Journalism, Marketing/Communications, Sport Management, or relevant field
Excellent communications skills, both oral & written
Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail
Strong writing, editing and research skills (background in media writing is an asset)
Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
Knowledge of, or interest in, sport management, journalism, communications, government relations, and/or international relations
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
Positive, outgoing personality
Eagerness to learn and be a team player
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and WordPress
Ability to communicate in French is an asset
Demonstrates and embodies the COC values of Accountability, Excellence, Fun, Respect and Bravery

TERM
This full-time internship will run from approximately January 2026 to April 2026, depending on the successful intern's availability and the academic calendar.
COMPENSATION
This is a paid internship. The intern will earn an hourly wage of $18.00 with a maximum of 35 hours per week.
