Regional Support is provided from our office in Vancouver.Join us and unearth your potential in a global company that is at the forefront of shaping the future of the mining industry.About this roleReporting to the North American External Relations team, the Intern will support Newmont to advance its External Relations and Communications strategies in North America. This is a great opportunity for a student to gain experience in both communications and government, Indigenous and stakeholder relations at a global company. Newmont has recently increased its presence in British Columbia with the purchase of the Red Chris and Brucejack mines and an interest in the Galore Creek project. The intern\xe2\x80\x99s work will heavily focus on the evolving mining landscape in British Columbia and the central role of critical minerals, a key building block of the green economy. **Applicants must be willing to commit to an 8-month work contract.Your role will consist of

• Assist in the creation of digital design and video materials, including ads, digital signage, banners, posters, web and digital assets, branded templates, newsletters, promotional items, infographics, and other communications materials.
• Create and analyze the performance of content for Facebook, SharePoint, and Viva Engage.
• Assist in the planning of conferences and events, including coordinating logistics, ordering promotional items and preparing printed materials.
• Support stakeholder engagement activities (e.g., preparing meeting materials, supporting logistics, taking meeting minutes, etc.).
• Conduct research and analysis for the External Relations team (e.g., on relevant public policy, Indigenous relations, etc.)
• Support the effective implementation of sustainability management software for stakeholder engagement tracking.
• Assist with translation requests.
• Provide site-based External Relations teams with any additional needed support

Your Training, Skills, and Experience Checklist

• Strong information literacy and writing skills are required.
• Basic graphic design or video editing skills (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva) are an asset.
• Strong ability to take initiative and ownership for projects, with good time management and interpersonal abilities
• Enrolled in an undergraduate-level program, preferably but not necessarily in a related field (e.g., Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Business Administration, Political Science, etc.)

This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
