The Opportunity



We are seeking an

Intermediate Staff Accountant

who brings strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for continuous learning. You will work closely with senior team members to complete assurance and tax engagements, support clients across a variety of industries, and contribute to the award-winning culture that sets us apart.





Key Responsibilities



Engagement Execution



Prepare working papers and complete assurance engagements (compilations, reviews, audits) under the supervision of senior staff or managers. Assist in the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns (T1, T2, T2 NIL, T3, T4, T5, T5013). Conduct client fieldwork and assess internal controls, identifying key risks and providing recommendations. Support engagement planning, budgeting, and workflow tracking to ensure deadlines are met and quality standards maintained. Assist with bookkeeping and other accounting-related engagements as needed.

Client Service & Relationship Support



Develop a solid understanding of clients' business operations to deliver accurate and insightful financial information. Maintain professional communication and provide timely responses to client inquiries. Participate in client meetings and assist with audit or tax-related correspondence, including CRA inquiries. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve client service delivery.

Teamwork & Mentorship



Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment. Supervise and mentor junior and co-op staff, reviewing their work for completeness and accuracy. Learn from and work closely with senior accountants and managers to build technical and client service skills.

Collaboration & Continuous Learning



Partner with the Tax Department to ensure accurate and integrated reporting. Participate in firm-wide initiatives and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and service quality. Stay up to date with accounting standards, tax regulations, and firm practices.



What We're Looking For



CPA designation in progress or recently obtained. Minimum 2 years of experience in a public accounting firm. Strong working knowledge of ASPE and Canadian review and audit standards. Proficiency with CaseWare; experience with JazzIT, Profile, or TaxCycle is an asset. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a paperless environment.
