Job Description

Vancouver accounting firm is looking for an intermediate staff accountant to join our growing assurance team.

Our firm primary focuses on assurance (audits) and financial consulting work on Canadian and US public and private entities. You will gain a variety of assurance experiences on public practices, including public company audits, review engagements and compilation engagements. You will gain advisory experiences from our advisory service line including Internal Audit (SOX), IPO and personal and corporate tax returns. There are wide aspects of accounting/financial knowledge that you can learn from your work to build up your future career. We are a CPA licensed firm that can provide articleship experience to CPA students to help you achieve your CPA designation.

Ideal candidates should have the following credentials or skills:

i) Accounting degree or equivalent with strong fundamental accounting knowledge;
ii) Good skills with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

iii) Previous experience with major accounting software such as Simply Accounting and QuickBooks is an asset but not must.
iv) Familiar with Caseware and Taxprep programs is an asset but not must;
v) Previous experience with an accounting firm is an asset but not a must; and
vi) Excellent communication skills.

The salary is a benchmark for this position. It can be adjusted based on our assessment of the the experience of the candidate.

Pay: $43,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
