This position is not a digital marketing role. The Intermediate Marketing Specialist will focus on proposal strategy, pursuit development, and marketing communications in support of HDR's Resources, Water, and Building Engineering Services groups. Candidates whose experience is primarily in digital marketing (SEO, SEM, social media advertising, online campaign management) will not be considered

HDR is seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Marketing Specialist to join our Resources, Water, and Building Engineering Services Business Groups. An important responsibility will be to support the marketing team and Market Sector Leads in producing winning, professional, and competitive pursuits. A high level of attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines are both important keys to success in this role. Key responsibilities are outlined below:


In the role of Intermediate Marketing Specialist, we'll count on you to:

Coordinate and lead proposal submissions from start to finish Write and edit marketing proposal documents, as well as develop and coordinate graphics and layout Coordinate with business development leaders, project managers, and other technical staff to prepare proposals, statements of qualifications, brochures, presentations, and other materials relating to business development. Conceptualize, research and produce marketing materials, proposals, promotions and presentations Provide storyboarding, as well as message and theme development for pursuits Lead proposal team meetings, review sessions, and interview preparation to develop strategic messaging Provide information to populate company data systems: pursuit and contract information (CRM), photography, resume, projects, contact management and skill-sets tracking Work cooperatively with diverse teams Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications



Bachelor's degree or associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience A minimum of 5 years document layout and production experience A minimum of 5 years of A/E industry experience Experience in proposal planning and coordination a must Writing ability, strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks Ability to handle tight deadlines and make independent decisions critical to job success Quick self-starter, team-oriented and able to work with different personalities and professional styles Previous experience in the A/E industry strongly desired Works cooperatively with diverse teams, regional, department, national, technical managers, and project staff Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values Requires little or no direction in the area of specialization Must exhibit proficient technical computer skills, advanced knowledge of communication theory and basic layout and design principals Excellent organizational and customer service skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must


Please note: The successful candidate will have a business title of Marketing Specialist.

Required Qualifications



Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) The pay range for Vancouver, BC is: $49,000 - $72,000.
