From offices in downtown Vancouver and Victoria, WA Architects Ltd. provides a full range of architectural, planning and interior design services. With more than forty years of practice in Western Canada, our firm is widely recognized for expertise in retail, residential, mixed-use, office and senior health-care projects. We are dedicated to high quality design, exceptional client service and the incorporation of sustainable design principles in our projects. We have an opening for an Intermediate Interior Designer in our Vancouver or Victoria office with the following qualifications:
- Completion of a certified Architecture or Interior Design program in a professionally recognized institution
- 3-5 years of experience with a Canadian multi-disciplinary architectural or interior design firm
- Significant experience with a wide variety of project types including commercial tenant improvements and multi-family residential; (hotel experience would be an asset)
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and assemble drawing packages for the above noted construction types, from Design concept, BP, Tender, and to IFC
- Demonstrated ability to prepare interior design and millwork details
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, InDesign and Photoshop
- Ability to effectively communicate & coordinate with Senior Project Designer, Project Architect, Clients, Consultants, and Construction & Municipal staff
- Experience with preparing relevant documentation, coordinating consultant\xe2\x80\x99s drawing packages and submitting building permit application packages in various municipalities
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in interior design would be an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral)
- Ability to articulate alignment with our WA Guiding Principles
