Purpose:

We are currently looking for an Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure all engineering and design work performed adjusts to safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform designing/engineering work/deliverables as part of the Instrumentation & Control team
  • Ability to interpret client specifications
  • Coordinate/communicate with other disciplines and the client
  • Be responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Worley Quality Assurance system
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required
  • If required, assist and support junior personnel within the instrumentation & controls engineering team
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in instrumentation & controls engineering
  • May be required to provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
Qualifications

What You Will Bring

Technical and Industry Experience
  • Working knowledge of Instrumentation & Control deliverables such as:
  • Panel (PLC, DCS, Marshalling, Fiber communication & network equipment) design
  • P&ID's
  • Loop drawings
  • Wiring drawings
  • Motor control schematics
  • Instrument location drawings
  • Instrument installation details
  • Instrument specifications (datasheets)
  • I/O lists
  • Bill of Materials
  • Conduit/tray/cable schedules
  • Control narratives
  • SAMA /logic drawings
  • Cause and Effect diagrams
  • Material requisitions
  • Engineering work packages
  • Working knowledge of Instrumentation Calculation/Selection, such as:
  • Flow (Orifice Plates, Vortex, Venturi, Magnetic, Ultrasonic meters)
  • Level Measurement (radar, displacers, gauges)
  • Temperature (including thermowells freq. wake calculation)
  • Pressure
  • Process Analysers and sampling systems would be a plus
  • Competent use of instrument calculation/selection specific software
  • Working knowledge (design/configuration/implementation) of any of the following systems:
  • DCS, Honeywell TDC/TPS/Experion
  • PLCs, Modicon, Rockwell.
  • SISs, Triconex is a plus
  • Experience and proven success in leading a team
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and codes related to Instrumentation & Control system deliverables
  • Being able to work with multiple and concurrently small and medium projects
  • Working knowledge of SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) software
  • Working knowledge (design/implementation) of Fiber / Radio Communication Networks
  • Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite
  • SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) software training (including wiring module) is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design software, is a plus
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Required:
  • Accredited Engineering Degree in General Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of direct Instrumentation & Control design and engineering experience
Preferred:
  • P.Eng registered with APEGA
