Your Impact:

We are looking for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Toronto team who is excited about solving the most complex building electrical systems issues for our clients. Join us and you will be providing technical support, with the opportunities to lead, in the design development, application, evaluation, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems or products for building electrical systems, such as electrical power distribution up to 44kV and low voltage for controls, emergency standby generation systems, lighting, telecommunications, security infrastructure, fire alarm and detection systems. Building types will include water/wastewater treatment, transportation, industrial, commercial, institutional, educational, etc.

You will continue to gain experience on all phases of construction document preparation including electrical equipment condition assessment, specification writing, drawings development, cost estimation, participating in client design review meetings/workshops. Your role will also include project tender and construction tasks typically associated with the role of a consulting engineer including engaging with the supply authorities, responding to requests from contractors and clients, reviewing shop drawings, preparing site instructions and change orders, and regular site visits. You will participate in project proposals and support Jacobs\xe2\x80\x99 marketing team where you may need to be involved in determining level of effort/fee estimates and tasks descriptions.

Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering

\xc2\xb7 Professional Engineer license in Ontario or another province (or eligible to receive it within 6 months of employment)

\xc2\xb7 At least 12 years of related/proven working experience in a design/consulting environment in Electrical engineering within Canada

\xc2\xb7 At least 8 years of design experience in infrastructure (water/wastewater) electrical systems

\xc2\xb7 Experience dealing with local utilities for service connection and coordination i.e., Toronto Hydro (THESL), Hydro One Networks (HONI), Alectra, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Experience resolving issues with other underground utilities i.e., Enbridge, Toronto Water, Bell, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Experience of preparation Electrical Condition Assessment for various clients

\xc2\xb7 Solid knowledge and application of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Ontario Building Code and other standards typically associated/referenced therein

\xc2\xb7 Experience in building electrical systems design for commercial, water/wastewater treatment, transportation, office, pharmaceutical, institutional, industrial, and other similar building types of facilities

\xc2\xb7 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

\xc2\xb7 Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas

\xc2\xb7 Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base

\xc2\xb7 Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams

\xc2\xb7 Passionate about buildings and construction

\xc2\xb7 Hands on knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, Agi32, SKM, MS Office

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of design in 3D (i.e. modelling and drafting) an asset
