We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Vancouver team in our Burnaby office.

About the Role

\xc2\xb7 Design of electrical power distribution in industrial facilities

\xc2\xb7 Design and specify electric power systems and equipment for operation at Skytrain stations,

\xc2\xb7 Perform engineering and electrical systems studies, design, technical evaluations, cost estimates, and options analysis for new equipment or modifications to existing equipment and systems.

\xc2\xb7 Experience in lighting design, data communications/security,

\xc2\xb7 Act as project manager for one or more projects at a time

\xc2\xb7 Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including drawings, equipment and construction/installation specifications, and other supporting documentation,

\xc2\xb7 Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC procedures,

\xc2\xb7 Execute project site progress and substantial inspections,

  • Direct and mentor junior staff. Provide technical advice and guidance.
  • Recommend changes in plans and specifying estimated costs;
  • Consult with other departments, suppliers and contractors to clarify specifications;
  • Prepare technical reports, tender documentation and field support (including commissioning/site inspection).
Qualifications

About You
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • Professional engineering license (P.Eng.), or capability of obtaining it in short time,
  • At least four years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in design of electrical systems for TransLink, Utility and Industrial sectors.
  • Effective communication and report-writing skills;
  • Auto-cad experience,
  • Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
  • Good working knowledge of Canadian regulatory codes and standards
