Careflow is a clinical AI data platform that enables dataflow orchestration, visualization, and insights. The Careflow platform simplifies the visualization of complex patient data while supporting explainable AI. Back-end Software Developer (Full-time Position)



Our company is seeking a talented back-end Software Engineer for a full-time position to help drive the development of industry-leading software solutions. This position is based out of our office located at 4211 Kingsway, Burnaby, BC, V5H 1Z6.

/ Duties & Responsibilities:



Contribute to the back-end development of the Excelar Careflow platform, building scalable and secure server-side applications Develop and maintain APIs (RESTful and/or GraphQL) to connect front-end applications with clinical data pipelines Design and optimize database schemas for relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) Implement and maintain authentication, authorization, and data security measures to protect sensitive patient information Collaborate with front-end developers and data engineers to integrate AI models and clinical data workflows into the platform Participate in agile development methodologies using tools such as JIRA, BitBucket, Jenkins Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while applying back-end optimization techniques and best practices

Qualifications:



3+ years of experience in back-end development Strong proficiency in one or more back-end programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, PHP) Experience with building and integrating RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus Understanding of back-end architecture: layered design, separation of concerns, and request flow from API to data and back Understanding of server-side frameworks (e.g., Express.js, Spring Boot, Django, .NET Core) Knowledge of security best practices, authentication/authorization, and data protection Familiarity with version control systems such Git (e.g., GitHub or BitBucket) Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
