You will be heavily relied on by this busy company while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.About the Role:

  • Work closely with the Pre-Construction Team to guide potential and new Design and Build projects through the entire design process.
  • Conduct meetings with clients to discuss their needs and style preferences. Outline and understand client spatial and design objectives and develop creative design directions for projects.
  • Produce Test Fit drawings to assist clients' understanding of their physical space and square foot opportunities and limitations, and to provide a basis for preliminary budget creation by the Estimating team.
  • Follow design timelines to ensure the Pre-Construction Schedules are met for multiple projects at different stages of the design process.
  • Produce all Architectural drawings, (Issued for Permit, Tender and Construction), including all required elevations, sections, millwork and finishes plans.
  • Work with Pre-Construction team members to ensure design is in line with the preliminary budget. Review Tender Drawings with estimating team to ensure entire scope is captured.
  • Assist with value engineering after tender as needed to meet budget requirements.
  • Source and specify all materials and finishes. Create presentations for in person and virtual design meetings. Produce finishes board for in person approval of selections. Lead all design meetings.
  • Coordinate with Architects, Engineers, and other outside Consultants. Review the entire drawing package to ensure continuity and scope requirements are being met.
  • Produce Building Permit submittal packages, including all forms and schedules, and submit permits in all major lower mainland locations . Follow permit through to submission.
  • Inspect design after completion to determine whether client goals have been met.
About You:
  • High proficiency in AutoCad is mandatory
  • Certificate or Diploma in Interior Design
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Certified Technician/Technologist designation is an asset
  • Current knowledge of the BC Building Code and Permit submission requirements in various municipalities in lower mainland.
  • Experience in Commercial Interior Design, with a focus on workplace design a requirement; designing for Retirement/Assisted Living facilities an asset.
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills (verbal and written), especially regarding communicating an artistic vision.
  • Ability to work independently and within a busy and high-performing team
