  • Design Development - Assist in the successful delivery of completed design packages to production.
  • Assist in the management of the design showroom.
  • Updates to administrative tracking systems.
  • Assist in staging and marketing initiatives.
Accountabilities

Deliverable 1 - Design Development- Assist in the successful delivery of completed design packages to production
  • Assisting the design team in all aspects of the design process, including concept development, drawings, sourcing, selections, pricing, budgets, and presentations.
  • Interacting with design team and vendors on all aspects of specifying, quoting, budgeting, sample acquisition, orders, shipping, deliveries, and installations
  • Perform pick-up and deliveries, site visits, etc.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and suppliers to deliver design documentation
  • Prepare documentation, interior specification packages and design plans
  • Provide support to the and Senior Designers as required
  • Interior selection package documentation (ie, Material selections, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures)
  • Assist in tendering process of interior finishes
  • Respond to RFI's during construction phase
  • Assist in pre, mid, post-construction site meetings with team members, clients, and trades
  • Work with other departments to produce quality results, while delivering projects on budget and on time.
Deliverable 2 - Assist in the management of the design showroom and material samples
  • Acquiring and returning samples from various showrooms for presentations
  • Setting up and breaking down presentations
  • Assist Design team during client meetings
  • Maintaining sample library
  • Ordering new samples as required
  • Labelling & documenting new samples
  • Removing discontinued samples
  • Reorganizing as required
Deliverable 3 - Updates to administrative tracking systems
  • Submit vehicle mileage sheets and timesheets to the office by Monday 9:00 am each week.
  • Maintain sample log out sheet
  • Maintain accurate project files, records and project status reports.
Deliverable 4 - Assist in marketing activities and project photography
  • Assist with marketing initiatives as needed
  • Shopping for staging items
  • Cleaning surfaces as needed
  • Staging for the photoshoots as directed
  • Packing staging items

Skills and requirements:
  • A university degree, college diploma or Certificate in Interior Design from a recognized institution is required. 2-year (minimum) Diploma in Interior Architectural Design D.I.D or a 4-year Degree B.I.D
  • 7 or more years of experience in the design/construction industry preferred
  • Proficient with Chief Architect
  • Experience with Vectorworks, Revit, Chief Architect "Premier", InDesign, and Photoshop is an asset
  • Understanding of the BC Building Code
  • Teamwork skills
  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of materials, application of finishes and colours
  • Friendly and approachable personality
  • Willing to learn and work cooperatively to achieve team goals
  • Able to work independently and without supervision
  • Must own a reliable vehicle and have a valid Canadian driver's licence
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent client service skills, with the ability to work in a diverse workforce
  • High level of detail-oriented, time management and organizational skills
  • Competency with high-volume workload, and the ability to stay focused and make sound decisions
  • Ability to multitask while managing priorities in a calm manner
