Established in 1993, Y Newcomer Connections is a leading immigrant settlement centre focused on creating connections that will transform our community into a lasting, healthy home for immigrants from around the world and from all walks of life.
The Opportunity As an Intercultural Competency Trainer, you hold the key to sparking change and unlocking the full potential of the Greater Saint John community. Your role is to design, develop, and deliver high-quality Intercultural Competency Training programs across various sectors, travelling to multiple locations across New Brunswick to conduct in-person sessions with clients, community partners, and employers, shining a light on the path to inclusion. You are both a facilitator and advocate, channelling your deep understanding and unwavering passion for diversity and social inclusion, especially in the context of culture, to make a significant impact.
Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver Incultural Competency Training programs for Greater Saint John and New Brunswick.
  • Empower YMCA staff with department-specific training for diverse client groups.
  • Manage client communications and billing.
  • Develop evaluation tools to measure program effectiveness.
  • Provide information for reports, proposals, and grants.
  • Engage with community partners to promote Intercultural Competency Training.
  • Represent the organization at community events.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance service effectiveness.
  • Maintain financial records

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Fluent in English (IELTS 7 or equivalent); proficiency in other languages is advantageous.
  • Direct experience with marginalized groups.
  • Proven success as a trainer or adult educator.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications
  • Flexibility to work varying hours.
