Position Summary:
Acuren Group Inc. is currently recruiting for an Integrity Engineer to support our Engineering Department in our Central Region. This position will be based out Oakville, ON. In this role, the incumbent plans and designs various material, non-destructive testing, inspection and engineering projects, typically using established technical procedures and processes, or devising new approaches to achieve objectives. Under the guidance of a supervisor or a more senior engineer, the incumbent reviews and analyses data and delivers conclusions by written report. The role also provides direction to more junior engineers or technologists and ensures work is managed within budget, meets client requirements and completed within designated timelines.


1. Conduct engineering work including:

  • Performing engineering review of equipment integrity inspections and provide recommendations on serviceability
  • Preparing repair designs and procedures for tanks and pressure equipment
  • Conducting field engineering services including visual inspection, hardness testing, laser profilometry, in-situ metallography, LIBS, OES, and project management, chemical analysis, hardness testing and laser profilometry
  • Recommending materials for particular services environment and writing materials specifications
  • Develop new approaches to conduct testing; mentoring less experienced staff

2. Participating in technical projects:
  • Providing technical support to projects
  • Acting as project leader for site inspections and supporting technical investigations, communicating with client to gather evidence, conducting analysis and preparing report
  • Ensuring efficient use of resources and delivery of results

3. Providing clients with support and engineering expertise by:
  • Proactively taking the initiative to understand customer requirements and needs to ensure expectations are met
  • Identifying additional services and products and new technologies to meet ongoing client needs
  • Meeting with customers to discuss report findings, recommendations and conclusions
  • Following up with clients regarding implementation of recommendations
  • Continually striving for process improvements including creating comprehensive reports and reports aligned to client needs, and identifying solutions to issues and developing recommendations for implementation

Position Requirements:
  • A university degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Physical Metallurgy, Corrosion, Structural, Welding)
  • A minimum of 2 years of directly related work experience; previous experience with pressure equipment assessment and inspection, strong abilities in report review, fitness for service review, and repair design is required
  • Membership in the applicable provincial association for professional engineers is required
  • Certification in API 510/570/653 and other pressure equipment certifications (e.g. API 580, National Board) would be an asset
  • Bilingual (French/English) would be an asset
  • Experience using the application of NDT methodologies towards optimal equipment maintenance strategies and the ability to provide a path forward based on testing results
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively respond to different levels of understanding, and produce professional reports
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of, and compliance with, responsibilities under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and ISO Systems, and Acuren Safety and Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs and driver license, Class 5 (clean record) required.
