Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has an exciting opportunity for a Marine Technical Integrity Engineer for the Bay du Nord Project\'s Development Phase. This project has an anticipated start date in June 2023 for a 2 year term. This role will be located in St. John\'s for its home office with travel to international sites as required.

In this role you will be:

  • Responsible for technical integrity input and assurance activities for FPSO hull and marine machinery, topsides structures, and moorings (domain) during the project development phase such as:
  • Risk review participation (i.e., HAZID, HAZOP, MOC);
  • Participate in hull, topsides structures and mooring development;
  • Develop Safety Environmental Critical Element performance standards;
  • Reviews of design and construction team\xe2\x80\x99s and contractor documentation (i.e., P&IDs, package specifications, material specifications, construction strategies, safety plans, hull specification);
  • Participate in site assurance reviews and audits (i.e., Yards, OEMs, and engineering contractors);
  • Participate in vendor fabrication visits and factory acceptance testing (i.e., structural fabrication, equipment packages);
  • Participate in the development of asset digital twin and lifecycle simulator/s;
  • Contribute to the maintenance plan build;
  • Contribute to sparing planning;
  • Contribute to Operation strategies, plans and procedures development; and
  • Contribute to Development Plan Application and Certification Plan development.
  • Represent Equinor and support Bay du Nord Operations in all external stakeholder engagements relating to the described domain (i.e., Partner, Regulators, Class Society)
  • Participate as a member of the mechanical completion and commissioning team and act as the technical integrity representative in the RFOC team, for described domain
  • Develop the technical integrity inspection management plan for described domain
  • Act as a support to the Bay du Nord Operations team for all Equinor, regulatory and Classification Society requirements and design codes, for the described domain
  • Contribute to Equinor\xe2\x80\x99s global professional network for described domain. Act as strong link between the professional network and the Bay du Nord Operations team
Skills / Qualifications

Experience Preferred:
  • 10 years working experience (preferably the majority focused on floating offshore Oil and Gas assets)
  • Operations experience centred on performance and maintenance of technical barriers
  • Good knowledge of tools and methods for marine systems, marine and topside structures, and mooring design work, specifically Canadian and DNV requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong adaptable and team centric behaviours.
  • High focus and commitment to personal and process safety.
Education Preferred:
  • Bachelor or Master of Engineering or Naval Architecture degree.
  • Professional Engineering designation from Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of Newfoundland and Labrador (or ability to obtain designation)
