Summary
We are seeking an Intake Worker to join our dedicated team at Polycultural Immigrant and Community Services. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing client needs and facilitating access to our various programs. Your contributions will be vital in helping clients navigate their journey towards achieving their full potential.
Responsibilities
Conduct initial assessments of clients to determine their needs and eligibility for services.
Complete intake forms and accurately enter client information into the database.
Manage and schedule client appointments for site program staff, as needed.
Meet targets and deliverables as set by the Program Coordinator.
Provide information about available programs and resources tailored to individual client situations.
Assist clients in completing necessary documentation and applications for services.
Assist with the preparation and organization of materials and handouts for each program cohort.
Distribute and compile client satisfaction surveys and feedback forms; conduct monthly follow-up contacts.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress within our systems.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
Participate in community outreach initiatives to promote our services.
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Administrative Services, Social Services or Counselling and at least three years' experience working with immigrant communities or a combination of experience and education.
Experience supporting internationally trained professionals with licensing or trade certification is an asset.
Knowledge of community and social services in Peel Region.
Familiarity with issues facing newcomers in a Canadian urban setting and systemic barriers to integration in education, social, cultural, and economic aspects of Canadian life.
Excellent interpersonal, cross cultural, customer service, written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in outreach, community development and marketing of programs and services.
Strong organizational and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Zoom
Ability to work flexible schedules as needed.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse populations.
Ability to assess client needs accurately and provide appropriate referrals.
Commitment to promoting inclusivity and supporting marginalized communities.
