INSURANCE DEFENCE LITIGATION LAW CLERK - E-DISCOVERY

We have an opening for an Insurance Defence Law Clerk - E-Discovery for our Insurance Defence Practice Group to join our team of Law Clerks.
The role requires the candidate to perform full clerical work of a responsible and confidential nature with a professional attitude and at the same time an individual who will provide support to their lawyer(s) and team with an emphasis on delivery of excellent service to our clients.
To be successful in this position the ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure. In addition the successful candidate will require to have the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision with strong organizational and communication skills. A successful candidate would have experience utilizing E-Discovery applications (preferably iPro/Local Discovery).
Key Responsibilities:
Reviewing file materials and assisting in drafting assessments.
Initiating the organization of and manages files or parts of files, including requesting, indexing and organizing documentary productions.
Assisting the Firm's lawyers with drafting pleadings, document production, drafting motions, mediation briefs, pre-trial briefs and preparing for hearings and trials and ensure that all parties are served.
Reviewing and summarizing transcripts of examinations for discovery for undertakings, refusals and assembly of answers to undertakings.
Corresponding with all counsel to ensure that all productions are received including liability productions from co-defendants and damage productions from plaintiffs.
Providing support on matters related to professional negligence, product liability, motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls claims.
Ability to communicate effectively and act as liaison between the client and lawyer for day-to-day matters.
Maintain knowledge and comply with the firm's practice and file management policies and procedures.
Docket time and billings accordingly.
Involvement in the analysis of claims.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required:
Completion of a recognized Law Clerk or Paralegal diploma/certificate program.
Proficient in using
E-Discovery tools
and legal document management systems.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in claim analysis.
Comfortable working with minimal supervision and using discretion when handling confidential information.
Experience with docketing and billing practices, in accordance with firm policy.
Ability to manage large volume of documents and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent computer skills including experience with MS Word and Excel.
The first 6 weeks of employment will be full time in office. After that point, the position will be hybrid with 3 days in office scheduled per week.
