Position Overview
We are seeking a
Controls and Instrumentation Technician
to join our growing team.
This individual will play a key role in
leading automation and controls projects
, maintaining instrumentation and electrical systems across our terminals, and supporting our maintenance team in keeping operations running efficiently.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced with
industrial automation systems
(Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and process control equipment).
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support
automation and instrumentation projects
across multiple terminals.
Troubleshoot and maintain
PLC, HMI, VFD, and instrumentation systems
(pressure, flow, level, and weight).
Program and modify
Allen-Bradley / RSLogix / Studio 5000
systems as needed.
Maintain and calibrate
Hardy weight controllers, flow meters, transmitters, and sensors
.
Assist with plant electrical systems including MCCs, panels, and field wiring.
Support mechanical and maintenance teams with day-to-day troubleshooting.
Ensure all electrical and control work complies with
CSA and OH&S standards
.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
Maintain accurate documentation of changes, calibrations, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Journeyman
Instrumentation Technician
or
Electrician
(or equivalent experience).
3-5 years of experience in
industrial automation or process control
environment.
Experience with
Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and DeviceNet/Ethernet/IP
systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills for both electrical and pneumatic systems.
Familiarity with
transloading, pneumatic conveying, or bulk handling
is an asset.
Ability to read and interpret
P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and loop drawings
.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a small team.
Valid Class 5 driver's license with reliable transportation to site.
Schedule & Compensation
Monday to Friday schedule with flexibility for overtime and occasional weekend work.
Shift lengths may vary (8, 10, or 12 hours).
