Job Description


The Faculty of Management invites applications for a career-stream appointment at the rank of Instructor or Senior Instructor in the Department of Leadership and Organizations, commencing January 1, 2025. The successful candidate is expected to bring expertise in the area of work-integrated learning, co-op programming, and Assurance of Learning (AoL) within the Faculty of Management. Their responsibilities will include:

  • Instruction, curriculum design, mentorship and evaluation in the courses most closely tied to work-integrated learning experiences in the Faculty of Management (including, but not limited to, co-op work-term courses and core courses critical to success in co-op work term courses).
  • Developing academic programming to strengthen our Faculty's efforts to provide students with education that helps them prepare for work-integrated learning experiences.
  • Leadership in considering how work-integrated learning experiences should impact curriculum and course design across our programs, and advocacy for realizing that impact
  • Supporting the design and implementation of assurance of learning processes for programs in the Faculty of Management accredited by AACSB, along with departmental, program, administrative, faculty, and/or university service.
Required qualifications, experience and skills:
  • A master's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Management, or a related field;
  • Demonstrated experience teaching, developing curriculum and designing assessments of students, related to work-integrated learning;
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience with Assurance of Learning processes in the context of AACSB accreditation;
  • The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Management Career Services, program directors, course instructors, and others involved in the assessment of work-integrated learning;
  • Practical experience supervising data collection for an Assurance of Learning program;
  • Evidence of efforts to foster safe spaces for equity-deserving groups, including work to decolonize the classroom and curriculum;
  • Experience with experiential curriculum design and pedagogical innovation;
  • Established record of teaching excellence in relevant courses
Desired qualifications:
  • Experience teaching work-integrated learning and co-op courses;
  • Experience mentoring students through career development including, but not limited to, co-op reports (SMART goals, critical self-reflection and learning styles);
  • Record contributions to the scholarship of teaching and learning;
  • Experience in engaging, mentoring and assisting students through the academic component of the co-operative education programs;
This is a teaching-focused position; the teaching load is defined by the Faculty's workload policy.
