What you\'ll doThe Department of Psychology invites applications for one Regular Part-Time Faculty to begin Sept 1, 2024. This position involves teaching a minimum of 5 sections per academic year, with the option of topping-up one\'s workload up to full-time (subject to the availability of further sections). We seek candidates whose teaching and professional interests and activities relate to our shared commitment to an academic model that embeds leadership skills, innovation, region integrated learning, and applied learning opportunities in authentic and interactive settings. Teaching approaches that promote engaging, inclusive, and active instructional methods are highly valued.The successful applicants will join a group of scholars who share a commitment to readying our students for dynamic career trajectories that build their capacities to innovate and lead, while developing self and social awareness. We have 4 years of courses that cover a breadth of psychology specialties, with a focus throughout on learning outcomes explicitly shaped by APA guidelines. Our students are invited to experience work integrated learning and to participate in research in collaboration with faculty. We operate on a collegial model, with shared decision-making and planning at the departmental level, and we do best with cooperation, camaraderie, and sharing of service work. We are committed to anti-oppressive practices and decolonizing methodologies, and to embedding Indigenous knowledge in our courses through work with Knowledge Keepers and Elders. As part of their regular teaching and non-teaching activities, the successful candidate will regularly engage in professional development and scholarly activities, including opportunities for teaching innovation, research, supervision of student undergraduate research, and supervision of student community-based educational activities, etc.Course offerings are primarily offered in-person.
