Edmonton Zone Continuing Care (CCEZ) provides services through five main program areas: Home Living, Supportive Living, Facility Living, Specialty Services & Transition Services. The instructor is a member of the Continuing Care (CC) Education & Practice Development team in Edmonton Zone (EZ). They are responsible to plan, coordinate, implement & evaluate CC orientation & education. As the education provided by this position supports the clinical practice of frontline staff, this position collaborates & partners with operational areas across CCEZ. Key Responsibilities Plans, develops, delivers, maintains & evaluates orientation & education for frontline, administrative & out of scope staff within CCEZ. Collaborates with program areas to identify gaps in knowledge that span across CC; plans & develops education to promote clinical competence while addressing gaps. Collaborates with provincial & CC stakeholders to plan & implement education related to changes in policy, procedures, protocols, clinical practice initiatives & technology that impacts & supports best practice & quality improvement. Provides leadership/mentorship support to team members including program-based educators/CNE\'s, professional practice leads, clinical quality consultants & frontline staff in order to further facilitate staff learning related to CC and program level initiatives. In time learning that impacts across CC frontline clinicians to respond to priorities & staff learning needs The instructor adheres to a professional Code of Ethics & AHS policies & procedures. As a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse in Alberta, the instructor is responsible & accountable for his/her nursing practice as defined by their regulatory College.Description:As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Psychiatric Nursing. A minimum of 3 years of recent health care experience as well as a broad knowledge of all programs offered within the Continuing Care portfolio. Demonstrated strong and effective communication and organizational skills. Leadership skills including demonstrated ability to work with various partners. Ability to inspire, influence change and build confidence in others. Use critical thinking to guide decisions. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development is an asset. Physical Exertion: Frequent physical demands including lifting, pulling and pushing, and moving equipment; standing for extended period of time; sitting for an extended period of time is required. The successful candidate will work in different settings for environments and must be able to carry supply bags which weigh approx. 35-50 lbs. Possibility of shift work and extended hours. Preferred Qualifications:Master\'s degree in nursing, business, or education. 5 years of relevant experience. Experience as a facilitator/educator & knowledge of adult learning principles. Knowledge of a variety of capacity building methods. Demonstrated project mgmt. skills. Change management training/experience. Experience with use of data to support quality improvement.
