Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
Prepare and facilitate the delivery of Business Writing courses which require knowledge of the writing process (drafting, writing, editing) using clear and concise writing that includes plain language principles; excellent grammar and punctuation skills - for public and corporate clients.
Use knowledge of business writing formats (emails, memos, letters, reports) to facilitate student skill practice.
Prepare and facilitate the delivery of Time Management Essentials courses for public and corporate clients.
Answer student questions and provide individual feedback on written assignments.
Revise curriculum, develop appropriate learning activities and teaching plans for each teaching assignment.
Manage the classroom to provide an optimum learning environment for students.
Work cooperatively with the Continuing Education Consultant and colleagues in an interdependent "team" environment.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Description
Required Qualifications
Education degree with an English or Business Education major or a university degree with an English or Business major with experience working in a business environment.
Other communication degrees considered if work experience is relevant.
Comprehensive knowledge of business writing principles and processes including common business communication formats such as letters, emails, reports, policies, and memos.
Experience teaching time management workshops using a practical approach.
Ability to apply basic principles and practices of adult education to assist learners with the required knowledge and skills.
Must have excellent presentation skills and understanding of Canadian Press Style.
Recent relevant business/industry teaching experience is an asset.
Must have intermediate level experience using Zoom and Teams.
