The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Learning Experience, the Instructional Designer will have a strong attention to detail to step into the role within an existing instructional design and subject-matter-expert (SME) team. Familiarity with and/or working knowledge of the ADDIE model and course authoring tools would be a major asset.
As an Instructional Designer at Seequent, you will assist with the development of a world-class training experience for all users of the Seequent suite of products. Key functions of this role will include migrating existing course content into the Articulate Rise authoring tool, reviewing and refining it from an instructional design perspective, and developing new e-learning modules based on SME-provided storyboards.
This position sits within Seequent's global Learning Experience team, with individuals based in Europe and Canada. The Learning Experience team works alongside the wider Customer Experience team, ensuring we provide the best learning experience we can to our customers.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Migrate existing course content into a new course authoring tool
Review and optimise e-learning storyboards for instructional clarity and development efficiency
Collaborate with SMEs to streamline course design processes
Work closely with the Digital Learning Specialist to implement new courses
To be successful in this role, you should have:
1 year of experience with instructional design, adult learning theories, and digital learning (active student in an instructional design post-graduate program is fine)
Strong attention to detail; experience with digital quality assurance and quality control is an asset
Flexibility/adaptability in handling changes to content, format, and/or settings as needed
Digital content management skills, such as the ability to handle and organise large volumes of digital content across platforms
Eager to be a course creator and problem solver
Excellent interpersonal skills to develop sustainable working relationships
Proven team player with a self-starter attitude and ability to work well independently at times remotely, and self-manage workload effectively
A passion for continuous learning and sharing knowledge with your team
A good understanding of e-learning as a method for product enablement for customers in software/SaaS environments
The ability to work across a global organisation, spanning different time zones
Fluent English required. French or Spanish would be an additional asset
