Job Summary
The Royal Canadian Legion is a vibrant community hub dedicated to providing no-cost or low-cost social activities, senior-focused events, and veteran assistance. Our branch is home to an accessible, multi-purpose facility that includes a banquet hall with a full kitchen, a club room for hosting events, a meeting room, and various hospitality services. We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Part-Time Event Coordinator to join our team and helpbring our community events to life.
Start date : March 1st , 12 hours per week at a rate of $25.00 per hour.
: The Event Coordinator will report to the Ways and Means Chair and will be responsible for overseeing the planning,marketing, and logistics of events hosted at our Legion branch. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a passion for delivering high-quality events that serve our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities :
• Event Planning & Coordination: Manage the end-to-end process of planning and executing events, including scheduling, logistics, and resource management.
• Marketing & Promotion : Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote events, ensuring maximum attendance and engagement.
• Volunteer & Attendee Tracking : Monitor and track volunteer participation, attendee registrations, and overall event participation.
• Feedback & Evaluation: Collect feedback from attendees via surveys, meetings, and informal conversations; analyze and provide recommendations for future events.
• Collaboration : Work closely with the Ways and Means Committee to develop event concepts, plan resources, and create event schedules.
• Reporting : Prepare quarterly reports detailing event performance, attendance, feedback, and recommendations for improvements.
• Additional Duties : Perform any other duties as assigned by management to support the overall mission of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Qualifications :
• Energetic, organized, and outgoing personality with a passion for community engagement.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience in event planning or coordination (preferred, but not required).
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders, including volunteers, community members, and committee members.
• Proficiency with basic computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.) and event management tools.
