MAJOR DUTIES:

The role of the Inside Sales/Applications Engineer, will work directly with the Global Directors of Sales for each customer segment across all ATS divisions. In regards to applications, this includes preparing and writing services proposals for potential customers, working with Key Account Service Leaders (KASL) from ideas and concepts to submitting the proposal to the customer. As an Inside Sales/Applications Engineer, you must complete the entire sales process from the first outreach and facilitate communications until the first meeting with an account representative customer. You will help us develop personas and identify high level customer challenges, and work with customers with the mutual goal to facilitate a meeting with a Key Account Services Leader (KASL). The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with strong communications skills to gain insights into the clients' challenges and align them to potential service solutions with sales.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Validate sales opportunities by researching customers' accounts and history, building rapport, providing information and explanations, and help organize that first critical meeting.
  • Communicating with customers, making outbound calls to potential customers, and following up on potential leads.
  • Develop sales leads to market qualified leads by understanding and interpreting customer requirements, providing information, and developing accounts.
  • Understanding customers' needs and identifying sales opportunities.
  • Answering potential customers' questions and sending additional information per email.
  • Keeping up with product and service information and updates.
  • Creating and maintaining a database of current and potential customers
  • Maintains communication with the potential client and sales manager.
  • Maintains and improves persona development.
  • Responsible for proposal development, pricing and writing detailed technical proposals for all types of services for ATS equipment and projects.
  • In projects where complexity is larger, the applications specialist will involve key members of services team in pricing and the concept.
  • Involves third party vendors and suppliers in the quoting process, where necessary.
  • Travels to the customer's site to assist in service development
  • Understand the value proposition and return on investment in regards to the proposed services to ensure they align with the customers' specifications, objectives and standards.
  • Obtains and prepares detailed estimates of time, quantities, labour and material costs required for work areas such as; product design, testing, machine building, equipment installations and manufacturing processes.
  • Assembles and collects all necessary information and customer specifications from engineering and sales & marketing, in order to prepare detailed proposals.
Additional Information

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years in sales and marketing (Asset with a technical background)
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or communications
  • Understanding of salesforce.com.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Strong Written Skills
  • Time management and presentation skills
  • Experience with marketing in international markets is a plus
  • Strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience:

Three years' experience in services support for mechanical, electrical and/r software, preferably in an automation environment. Must have a working knowledge of robotics, machine controls and manufacturing processes and be able to keep abreast of leading-edge technology. An ability to present ideas, concepts and pricing information in a clear, concise manner suitable for technical and commercial audiences is essential.
