About you: Ideally you will have a Minimum of 3 years’ experience within industry in a similar role, including some exposure and/or knowledge of high-availability systems.. You will have first class troubleshooting skills, and exposure to VMWare Virtualisation and Shared Storage Practices with a high level of attention to detail with a methodical, patient approach. Day-to-day, you will: Be responsible for basic administration aspects of Core Microsoft on-premise products (Windows Server, SQL Server, Exchange) and also their cloud based offerings (Office 365, Azure, and their Cloud based products). You will be responsible for network management and performance analysis as well as security measurements and server hardening within the environment As a well-rounded Infrastructure and Security Engineer, your Skills and Experiences likely include:

• Monitoring & managing the resources, systems, servers, and other network components together with telecoms used to deliver our internet-based 24 / 7 service
• The first point of contact for problems reported by staff on local and remote networks, desktop computers, laptops, networking equipment (switches, routers, etc.), and any other periphery devices (printers etc), or software tools provided by the company
• Effective use of 3rd party support service providers to resolve operational problems (SIP providers, Hosting providers, etc)
• Maintain and commission new server environments, PCs, laptops/notebooks, and networks according to the business’ needs and growth
• Participate in shared Dev Support Rota
• Service hardware & SIP capacity planning – ensure hardware capacity matches current and near future customer requirements
• Maintain service-availability stats (i.e. up time) of SIP and Datacentre provider services
• Recommend equipment replacements/upgrades
• Maintain documentation for the network, telecommunications, and telephone systems.
• Ensuring the resilience of the service is always maintained
• Maintain and build security into the existing and new platforms
• Maintain & create back-up solutions for disaster recovery

In Addition to the above the following attributes, skills and knowledge will be advantageous

• Real world experience of High Availability systems.
• Confident in scripting languages like PowerShell and JSON.
• Experience and understanding of providing high network availability in customer focused networks.
• Exposure to firewall & network security appliances like Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls.
• Good understanding of telecommunications.
• Experience in diagnosing local and remote network connectivity issues.
• Ability to work unsupervised and proactively.
• Ability to run and understand security scripts and pen testing.
• Ability to investigate using defined processes and documents
