REF20184A NielsenIQ is looking for a Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our Financial Services Engineering team in Toronto. We use alternative datasets to help global public equity make better investment decisions and work with some of the largest hedge funds in the world. As a Data Infrastructure Engineer, you will be at the cutting edge of the alternative data space where you will help maintain and improve our data infrastructure, which enables us to develop market research products and delivery data to our customers. • Work with software and data engineering teams to improve our data infrastructure for increased reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
• Architect and design solutions to improve our data delivery capabilities, data quality monitoring, and data pipeline lifecycle.
• Architect and administer our cloud applications such as Snowflake (data warehouse), Databricks, Looker, etc.

We’re looking for people who have

• 5-7 years of designing and building production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption in a cloud environment using SQL and Python.
• Experience maintaining data in a secure environment, while working with security compliance, PII and security best practices.
• 3+ years of experience in cloud application architecture & administration in AWS or Azure.
• Hands-on experience designing, building and operationalizing large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications. (Airflow, Databricks, Snowflake, Serverless Functions, Cloud storage preferred).
• Background in in custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Hands on experience with Unix/Linux Command Line Interface (CLI) and Shell Scripting.
• Software development experience in Java/Python/Scala/C#.
• Experience implementing and administering APIs.
• Experience implementing Data Management and Governance principles.
