The Infrastructure Architect primary responsibility is to identify and implement ways to improve service delivery in relation to the operation of critical servers within the network tied to our multiple product offerings. Secondary to that, the Infrastructure Architect also provides support to the rest of Access Communications, providing expertise to team members on the Network Services team and other technology teams as required. Designs, maintains and enhances headend and network devices, back office systems, security and services to accommodate changing needs and correct existing problems. Provides assistance to staff and customers to resolve hardware and software problems. Monitors and analyzes systems performance metrics to identify potential areas for improvement Researches technology solutions and recommends new equipment acquisitions/architectures. Meets with managers and staff, including sales, to determine needs and explore options for custom solutions Prepares operational and design reference documentation so that others can successfully perform the critical functions and recover from system/service failure. Provides point of escalation to assist with emergency issues including times outside of regular hours.
This position requires 8-10 years of experience, at least 5 of which will be in an enterprise environment. 5 -10 years of experience in data center environments with a focus on Linux server administration and automation. Requires in-depth knowledge of Linux, DNS, SMTP, POP/IMAP, HTTP, SNMP, DHCP, MySQL, VPN, DOCSIS, virtualization, Zabbix, scripting languages, etc. Experience working with products including, but not limited to, Cisco, Arista, HP, Adtran, Casa, Arris, Hitron, Nutanix, MetaSwitch, Zimbra, Fortinet, etc. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential The Benefits?
