POSITION SUMMARY

The Industrial Designer plays an integral part in the design and development of our retail store fixtures. This position will be partnering with our Visual Merchandising team to ensure our customers have an exceptional visual experience in our stores. The ideal candidate would be able to bring inspiring ideas to life, from idea conceptualization through to projection completion. This position is currently a part-time position.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Design, as well as coordinate production and development of retail store fixtures, props, storefront design and signage
• Create drawings and working models
• Resolve technical issues with vendors
• Review build partner drawings to identify and document any deviations from product and installation standards
• Create models, mockups and design validation samples from sketches and architectural drawings
• Maintain samples, specification sheets, design guide content and internal procedures documentation
• Support in research and development efforts and generation of reports relating to materials and manufacturing techniques, coordinating with a variety of vendors and industries
• Manage projects from conceptualization to completion
• Assist with fixture procurement process. This includes inventory process, disposal of outdated fixtures & overstock.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 1 year design experience in retail fixtures and display props
• Previous project management experience
• Experience with prototyping, product testing, and vendor-facing work is a plus
• Proficient with AutoCAD or similar platforms
• Excellent vendor relations management
• Knowledge of millwork, fixtures, furniture or related industries
• Degree in architecture, industrial or engineering design, graphic/creative arts, or related fields preferred
• Understand and educate our staff and clients on OAK + FORT\xe2\x80\x99s product features
