Our expectations

Reporting to the Manager, Design, Style and Trends, the Designer will be assigned to work on various assignments like trends research, product development and design, while helping with the creation of inspiring and functional layouts, highlighting our assortment products.

Your role

  • Research and analyze trends; summarize them by creating internal visual presentations, and for suppliers and other collaborators
  • Set and demonstrate design requirements\xe2\x80\xa2Create seasonal collections, product development kits, spec sheets, inspiration boards, and other communication tools
  • Follow up on projects to ensure quality from a design and trends perspective, while making sure that everything is inspiring and meets business requirements
  • Work on product optimization with vendors, internal teams, and freelancers; advise and influence them on specific issues and areas of expertise during the design and product development phase
  • Execute merchandising initiatives with respect to product development and presentation to support the achievement of sales objectives and inspire customers
  • Collaborate on the design and development of aesthetic and functional layout plans using products from our store assortment and ensure a smooth process until the final assembly
  • Develop designs aligned with home fashion trends, customer needs/wants, and the strategic position desired

The qualifications we are looking for

  • University degree in industrial design or environmental design
  • Post-secondary degree in architecture (an asset)
  • At least 2years of experience in design
  • Experience in research, ideation, and development of large-scale manufactured products
  • Experience in interior design (an asset)
  • Knowledge of home improvement and DIY (an asset)
  • Aesthetic sensitivity, creativity, and innovation
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, AutoCAD, and other 3D drawing software
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
