Globally, we manage over 320 million square feet of client portfolios across 30,000+ locations in North America, Europe, Middle East, Australia and Asia.Further information is available atSUMMARYThe Senior Indoor Environments Specialist is responsible to provide competent project management, field assessments, technical field support, data interpretation, and technical reporting/consultation on indoor environments projects. This role is also responsible for contributing to the identification of project opportunities, proposal preparation and solution development and program execution and management during the implementation stages.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPeople LeadershipDemonstrates strong, competent leadership for team members to guide them in reaching their full potential and meeting their objectives, which supports achievement of our corporate goals. Specifically, these responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Full involvement with recruiting talent.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members.
  • Objectively recommends compensation adjustments.
  • Manages all aspects of performance.
Project/ Program Development and Implementation
  • Program and project management of client facing environmental initiatives.
  • Determine site specific sampling requirements to meet regulation, method and guideline requirements.
  • Application of occupational health and safety principles and regulations, especially as they relate to asbestos, mould, radon, water loss, indoor air quality and hazardous building materials.
  • Cost estimation of projects.
  • Material procurement.
  • Scheduling of office and field technician activities.
  • Ensures field/laboratory equipment is maintained in good condition and monitors material inventory.
  • Provide financial, schedule, consultant, and client management services for projects.
  • Liaise with and work closely with cross-functional teams, and act as a subject matter expert.
Coordinate Project/Program
  • Develop and prepare field operation packages.
  • Coordinate and monitor field operations.
  • Trains, coordinates, and supervises technical staff executing indoor environment monitoring and assessment tasks.
  • Makes arrangements with contractors/vendors as directed, supervises contractors/vendors, and reviews contractor\'s work/installations and invoices.
  • Oversight and maintenance of QA/QC measures and standard operating procedures.
Reporting
  • Interpret analytical results and instrumentation measurements.
  • Provides various reports on indoor environments projects including asbestos, indoor air quality, radon as required.
  • Prepares standard and custom indoor environment reporting, executes complex technical analysis, and provide recommendations.
  • Provides initial interpretation and communication of indoor environment regulatory requirements and communication to concerned parties.
  • Supports delivering indoor environment reporting used to contract deliverables.
  • Provide input to and support action plans to increase customer satisfaction.
Quality Assurance / Quality Control
  • Implement sample event blank, travel, duplicate sample quality control measures.
  • Assist in development, oversight and maintenance of QA/QC measures and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct quality review reports and corrective actions as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Experience in Indoor Environment technical areas including Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Risk Assessments, Radon, Mold, Asbestos, hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with occupational hygiene testing/sampling protocols using various direct-read and traditional laboratory analyzed methods (NIOSH, OSHA, etc.).
  • Experience in disaster restoration as it relates to assessing and remediating sites after water intrusions, fires etc.
  • 5+years\' experience in reporting and performance indicators.
  • University Degree in Sciences and/or Community college diploma completed with similar experience (e.g. occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental field). (4+ years)
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel. Strong MS Word skills. Working experience with database software would be beneficial.(4+ years)
  • An effective leader that can impact across the organization with strong communication and interpersonal skills, with high levels of client interaction. (4+ years)
  • Strong administrative skills including documentation standards and project management, organization and time management.(4+ years)
  • Operating across a series of functions, with a strong business understanding and a skilled communicator, able to make the subject and topics relevant for the different functions, and at different levels in the company.
  • Appreciation of financial reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of Building Science fundamentals would be beneficial. (4+ years)
  • Knowledge or education in environmental management or engineering.
  • Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance processes. (4+ years)
  • Experience nationally across Canada, the United States or internationally considered a strong asset.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation/Affiliations
  • Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program (C-NRPP)
  • Radon Measurement Professional
  • Radon Mitigation Professional
  • Radon CRNCH-INSTALLER Professional
  • Canadian Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (CARST)
  • Have or are willing to work toward one or more of the following certifications or equivalent:
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
  • Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) certification
  • Water Restoration Technician (WRT)
  • Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT)
  • Applied Structural Drying Technician (ASD)
  • Odour Control Technician (OCT)
  • Thermal Imagery (TI)
