The Yellowknives Dene First Nation (YKDFN) is governed by a Chief and Council which has offices in Dettah and Ndilo. The incumbent works within this context to provide effective and efficient level of support and assistance.
Under the authority of Yellowknives Dene First Nation Government Chief and Council, and under the direct supervision of the Director, Health and Wellness, the Indigenous Early Learning Development Coordinator (IELDC) is responsible for leading and coordinating the development, implementation, and monitoring of Early Learning. This includes development, implementation, and enhancement of post- secondary and professional learning to support access to quality ELCC programming with the YKDFN.
The IELDC requires experience in working with knowledge of and/or the ability to acquire Indigenous knowledge of program delivery options and methodologies, NWT early learning & childcare, computer hardware and software applications, work with limited supervision, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with the focus on confidentiality.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A diploma in Early Childhood Education or post-secondary education in a related field; or
Equivalent combination of education and training coupled with four (4) years' experience working in program development with children and families will be considered;
Current Child First Aid/CPR Certificate; and
Up to date Immunizations.
