Overview

OUR CLIENT is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in taxes both canadian and US and accounting and financial services, with proficiency in various accounting software programs. This role is essential for ensuring accurate tax preparation and compliance, while also providing valuable insights to clients regarding their financial situations.

Duties

Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Analyze financial information and documentation to determine tax liabilities and potential deductions. Conduct thorough audits of client accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy. Provide bookkeeping services including accounts payable, account reconciliation, and payroll processing. Assist clients with budgeting and investment strategies to optimize their financial outcomes. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other relevant tools to manage client accounts effectively. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to provide informed advice to clients. Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information for tax preparation.

Qualifications

Proven experience in tax preparation or a related field is preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other relevant applications. Familiarity with auditing practices and principles is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction. A background in bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, or investment management is advantageous.
