Job Description

We are hiring a Personal Income Tax Preparer for the upcoming tax season. This is a four-month, in-office position ideal for someone with real hands-on T1 experience who can work efficiently during peak periods.

Responsibilities

Prepare T1 personal income tax returns using professional tax software Review and enter tax slips (T4, T5, T3, RRSP, OAS, CPP, T5008, etc.) Prepare business, professional, and rental income statements Communicate with clients to gather missing information Assist with CRA follow-ups and documentation requests Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance Assist with year ending accounting working paper files

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 seasons of personal income tax preparation experience Accounting diploma/degree or equivalent education Strong knowledge of T1 forms, schedules, and common deductions Experience with employment, pension, investment, self-employment, and rental income Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management Clear written and verbal communication skills

Assets

Experience with Profile or similar tax software Experience preparing year-end working papers Bookkeeping or basic accounting experience Experience communicating with CRA Knowledge of Sage and QuickBooks Desktop or Online Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends CPA student or currently enrolled in accounting/tax courses (preferred)
