The Township of Springwater, located in the heart of Simcoe County, is a mixed urban/rural municipality with growing urban settlements and a prosperous agricultural sector. The municipality is currently recruiting Day Camp Inclusion Facilitators for its 2026 Summer Day Camp Program.
As an integral part of the summer camp program, Day Camp Inclusion Facilitators are responsible for providing one to one individual assistance to identified program participants.

Position Responsibilities
The usual responsibilities of the position are:
Be directly responsible for supervision and integration of 1:1 or 2:1 with assigned campers to ensure their supervision and that they are integrated into the daily activities of the camp
Assist children with special needs to allow them to participate fully in camp activities and incorporate and model the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development principles where appropriate.
Suggest and implement program and environmental adaptations to create a safe & inclusive environment
Communicate with staff and caregivers to share pertinent information and feedback regarding camp participants' involvement while maintaining confidentiality
Provide crisis support and responds to behavioural issues in accordance with Behavioural Management System methodologies.
Ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive information.
Work in all weather conditions both indoors and outdoors.
Ensure the safety, enjoyment, and care of registered camp participants.
Complete all camp paperwork as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
Previous experience working with children or youth who require support in a school, program or day camp environment is required.
Previous experience working with children in a supervised group setting is required.
Applicants must be a registered full-time student during the preceding academic year and provide proof of enrollment of returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year. Preference will be given to applicants enrolled in a College or University program in a child-care related field (i.e. Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation and Leisure Studies, Education, Autism & Behavioral Science, CYW etc.).
Hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR C/AED certification (or if hired, must obtain by June 19, 2026).
Certification in HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development from HIGH FIVE National. (or if hired, must obtain by June 19, 2026).
Behaviour Management Systems and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training. (or if hired, must obtain by June 15, 2025).
Possess strong communication and leadership skills.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
This is a summer specific position and staff must be available to work exclusively in July and August for the entire duration of the program and be available for required training in May and June to be considered for a position.
As a condition of employment, all applicants must be willing to submit a Criminal Records Search - Vulnerable Sector Screening that is acceptable and in good standing to the Township of Springwater.

Rate of Pay
The rate of pay is $20.38 per hour (2025 rate) plus statutory holidays and vacation pay as per the Employment Standards Act.

Hours of Work
This position may work up to 40 hours per week between the hours of 7:30 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday with a varying schedule to support operational needs and program demand. This position is a mixture of indoors and outdoors with work locations including Elmvale, Midhurst, Minesing, Anten Mills and other off-site destinations; reliable transportation will be required.
