Role Description
We are currently accepting applications for a future Implementation Technician role, with an anticipated start date after January. This is an on-site role based in the Atlantic region. In this position, you will play a key role in the deployment, configuration, and support of telecommunications systems for our clients. You will be responsible for the installation, integration, and maintenance of our products and services at customer locations. You'll collaborate closely with our engineering and project teams to interpret technical requirements, execute installation plans, and ensure each solution is delivered to the highest standards of quality and reliability.
The role involves hands-on technical work, troubleshooting and resolving system issues, verifying network performance, and maintaining detailed documentation of all implementation activities. Success in this position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication, along with a solid understanding of telecommunications technologies and equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Hands-on experience with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunications systems, including structured cabling, fiber installation, and equipment setup.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve issues during the implementation phase.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including professional interaction with clients and team members.
Ability to read, write, and interpret technical documentation, including design packages, as-built records, and work tickets.
Experience gathering and updating data, performing site surveys, and organizing equipment according to project requirements.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing project scopes, customer standards, and technical requirements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, accepting and integrating feedback effectively.
Degree or diploma in Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field preferred; previous experience in the telecommunications industry is an asset.
Commitment to completing projects on time, on scope, and within budget while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Technical skills considered an asset include AC/DC power knowledge, CATV, HFC, optical nodes, optical transmitters/receivers, RFoG/GPON, radio RF spectrum, active and passive RF devices, IP video technology, SONET, WDM transport, DOCSIS 3.1, wireless technologies (LTE, 3G, 4G, 5G), and small cell technology.
Additional Requirements
Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
Good level of physical fitness, as the role requires lifting and handling heavy equipment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting.
Willingness to travel within New Brunswick and occasionally to other provinces as needed.
Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including evenings or nights for system cutovers and maintenance activities.
Must be authorized to work in Canada.
