Position Overview The Department of Medicine in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for Implementation Coach & Educator. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 24 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Principal Investigator. Travel between facilities within Calgary is required. This is a recurring part-time position. Recurring part-time employees are hourly employee engaged to perform work on an irregular schedule. Position Description Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Accountable for the implementation and education at each site
  • Work with the project research coordinator and other staff to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to other health care professionals on the team
  • Develop implementation plans in partnership with facilities that are appropriate to local context, and consider local barriers to change
  • Report progress, risks and issues to the PIs and/or research coordinator
  • Develop material for implementation, education for facility staff, and ensuring research protocol and ethic requirements are followed
  • Update and recommend changes to material to meet the continuously changing needs of the project and LTC site as required
  • Serves as point of contact for LTC sites, ethics, and team members
  • Completion of Research Grant applications including to local, regional, provincial, national, and international funding agencies as appropriate
  • Completion of Research Ethics applications for Division endorsed projects
  • Prepare and submit study documents to the ethic boards
  • Educate facilities, stakeholders, patients and their families on research procedures and proposed care pathway
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Health Sciences or related area required
  • Training and/or experience in research (e.g. MSc or equivalent research experience), project implementation and medical/nursing education required
  • A nursing degree (e.g. RN) or medical degree is preferred
  • 3-5 years of related research experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing partnerships with a diversity of stakeholders
  • Strong background care for older adults
  • Knowledge of long term care structure and operations would be an asset
