Ceseonu Law Office is a client-focused and growing law firm based in Calgary, Alberta, providing legal services in immigration, family law, and real estate. We are dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and businesses through compassionate and professional legal representation. We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organized Legal Assistant to primarily support our immigration practice, with flexibility to assist in family and real estate matters as needed.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal and administrative support to our legal team. While the primary focus will be on immigration law, the successful applicant will also be expected to assist with family, Injury and real estate files. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines across different practice areas.
Duties
Prepare, review, and manage legal documents and application packages for immigration, family, and real estate matters
Draft correspondence, legal submissions, court documents, and client communications
Liaise with clients, government agencies, court staff, and third parties in a professional and timely manner
Maintain organized and accurate client files (digital and physical)
Monitor file progress, track deadlines, and manage calendars for the legal team
Coordinate the intake of new clients and assist with scheduling and follow-ups
Assist with online filings, court submissions, and registration of documents as required
Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with firm and regulatory standards
Perform general administrative duties including scanning, filing, and data entry
Skills
Completion of a Legal Assistant, Immigration consulting or Paralegal diploma/certificate
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Canadian law office, with strong immigration law experience
Familiarity with IRCC and court filing procedures, real estate conveyancing, and legal drafting
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal software systems like
Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
High level of professionalism and discretion
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
