Job Level NV-08
As an Immigration Advisor, you will provide legal advice to employees and candidates in the recruitment process with respect to activities associated with obtaining and renewing work permits for Desjardins Group.

As an expert, you will take charge of all immigration mandates and act as contact person for the organization\'s partners. The nature of the files and projects requires comprehensive knowledge of Quebec\'s economic immigration rules.

You will be required to interact with stakeholders working in complementary fields of activity. Interpersonal skills are therefore essential.

General Information on the Position

Main responsibilities


  • Ensure the complete handling of the immigration process, sometimes internally, sometimes with partners

  • Work directly with managers and employees to obtain documents and information

  • Produce official documents and forms to be submitted to government authorities to obtain or renew work permits for Quebec and Ontario

  • In support of employees on work permits, ensure compliance of immigration files and status follow-up

  • Provide support to managers and employees on immigration challenges encountered before hiring or during employment, in order to identify the best possible solutions

  • Responding to government audits, consolidating the required information and providing the applicable documents in a timely manner

  • Produce analyses and statistics from time to time in relation to operations

  • Coordinate more complex cases with immigration suppliers.


Other working conditions

  • Workplace: Position located in L\xc3\xa9vis or Montreal, depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is *full-time on-site work / full-time telework / hybrid work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a related field

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the preparation of work permit applications (LMIA-CAQ, LMIA exemptions, etc.)


Please note that other combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered

  • Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar or Certified Immigration Consultant RCIC and RQCI

  • For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required


Specific knowledge

  • Good knowledge of economic immigration rules in Quebec

  • Good knowledge of economic immigration rules in Ontario (an asset)

  • Up-to-date knowledge of immigration law and ethics

  • Knowledge of Excel (an asset)

  • Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with (language)-speaking partners, members and/or clients
