Key Responsibilities:



Deliver Engaging Lessons:

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, interactive lessons that cover all aspects of the IELTS exam (Academic & General Training).

Strand-Specific Expertise:

Speaking:

Conduct mock speaking tests, provide constructive feedback on fluency, pronunciation, and lexical resource, and create a supportive environment for practice.

Writing:

Teach effective essay structures (Task 2) and data-reporting techniques (Task 1), with a focus on task achievement, coherence, and grammatical range. Provide detailed, actionable feedback on student writing.

Reading:

Instruct students on skimming, scanning, and time-management strategies for complex texts across various question types (e.g., True/False/Not Given, Matching Headings).

Listening:

Develop students' ability to comprehend a range of accents and spoken English in different contexts, focusing on key information and test-taking techniques.

Student Assessment & Progress Tracking:

Administer and grade full-length mock tests. Analyze student performance to provide personalized feedback and tailor instruction to meet individual learning needs.

Curriculum Development:

Contribute to the development and enhancement of lesson plans, teaching materials, and practice resources.

Student Motivation:

Inspire and motivate a diverse group of students, fostering a positive and productive classroom atmosphere.

Who You Are (Qualifications & Experience):



Bachelor's degree required; a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification is highly preferred. Minimum of

2 years

of experience specifically teaching IELTS preparation courses, with demonstrable expertise in all four modules. In-depth knowledge of the IELTS exam format, scoring criteria (band descriptors), and effective test-taking strategies. Exceptional command of the English language (C1/C2 level or native-level proficiency). Proven ability to teach complex grammatical concepts and academic vocabulary in an accessible way. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Tech-savvy, with experience using digital teaching tools and platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, interactive whiteboards).

A passion for teaching and a genuine desire to see students succeed. A patient, adaptable, and energetic teaching style. A track record of students achieving their target IELTS bands (be prepared to provide examples). Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 4 per week

Work Location: In person
