Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager of Abode Home Comfort, the Gas Technician ensures the safe, reliable, and code-compliant installation, service, and maintenance of gas fireplaces, furnaces, heat pumps, and related HVAC systems. This role supports both residential and commercial clients by delivering high-quality workmanship, resolving technical issues efficiently, and providing excellent customer service in retrofit and new construction environments.

Some of the tasks will include:

Install, service, and maintain gas fireplaces, furnaces, heat pumps, and related HVAC systems, gas piping, and ventilation systems Perform retrofit installations in existing homes, ensuring safety, compliance, and minimal disruption. Work on new construction projects, coordinating with builders and trades to complete rough-in and final installation. Diagnose and repair technical issues related to gas appliances and systems. Participate in the scheduled on-call rotation for emergency service calls. Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications. Communicate clearly with customers and educate them on safe operation and routine maintenance. Maintain accurate service records and documentation.

The following skills are needed

Valid Gas Technician 2 (G2) license and 313D certification is required Valid Gas Technician 1 (G1) and/or 308A certification is preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience in gas appliance installation, with a focus on fireplaces Strong understanding of venting systems, gas piping, and HVAC controls. Comfortable working in both retrofit and new construction environments. Proven problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
