Job Overview


We are seeking an HVAC Service Manager to lead our field team in providing exceptional services and ensure the profitability of the unitary portion of the HVAC service department. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems. This role requires a proactive leader who can effectively lead people, ensure compliance with safety standards, maintain the highest standards of quality and field workmanship and maintain high-quality service delivery in a proactive manner.

Duties



Supervise and help coordinate HVAC maintenance, service and service repair activities. Train and mentor HVAC technicians on best practices and safety protocols. Conduct routine site visits to ensure industry-leading workmanship. Troubleshoot complex HVAC issues, if needed, and develop effective solutions with Technician on site. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution. Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and materials necessary for HVAC operations. Responsible to provide positive culture and safety throughout the department. Lead the recruiting efforts of top talent in the service by whatever means available. Oversee labour power requests between maintenance, service and installation. Responsible for "inside" service sales related to "on-the-spot or recommended repairs." Responsible for revenue and profit on the HVAC Service Division. Work closely with Business Development to help promote and review new PM opportunities. Assist operations internally with difficult or problem Ops reviews. Review and approve al service warranty and credit issues and resolve all service-related customer invoice disputes. Handle specific invoice dispute or delegate to Field Service Lead and/or Customer Experience for customer interface. Review all first-time Unitary PM contracts and assist the Primary Technician on the "kick off" of it. Perform monthly PM reviews with operations. Perform regular customer visits and quality inspections. Responsible for onboarding new Technicians within the HVAC team. Review and approval all time off requests of the field team.

Skills



Ability to motivate, coach, and hold technicians accountable while fostering a strong, respectful team culture. In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and repair methods to support technicians and make informed decisions. Skilled in handling customer concerns, building trust, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Proficient in organizing technician schedules to balance workload, minimize drive time, and optimize billable hours. Able to quickly assess operational issues and make sound, data-informed decisions in the field or office. Understands service margins, labor costs, and performance indicators to drive profitability. Clear and effective communicator with technicians, office staff, and customers, both verbally and in writing. Comfortable with field service software and leveraging tech for operational efficiency. Strong grasp of HVAC codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure technician and customer safety. Actively looks for ways to improve service delivery, technician performance, and customer experience

Pay: $115,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
