Job Summary

The Developmental Service Worker plays a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. This position involves providing assistance in daily living activities, promoting independence, and fostering social skills in a compassionate and respectful environment. The Developmental Service Worker collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans and ensure the well-being of all clients.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Support clients in developing social skills and engaging in community activities. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and goals. Monitor client progress and document observations accurately for review by the healthcare team. Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, fostering a positive environment. Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Human Services diploma and or certification, or education in social services or related fields is preferred. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Basic understanding of developmental disabilities and related support strategies is a plus. Must pass background checks and any required training certifications prior to employment.

Pay: From $20.50 per hour
