JOB PROFILE HR & Payroll Coordinator General Description Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the HR & Payroll Coordinator coordinates and carries out Ferguson\xe2\x80\x99s human resources, payroll, and benefits services/functions. As the first point of contact to the organization (for visitors, suppliers, and new employees), this role also supports management and the office administratively. Reports to: Chief Financial Officer Supervises: n/a Responsibilities and Expectations Administration Support
  • Assists with and works collaboratively to greet visitors and answer/redirect calls
  • Support meeting scheduling, organization, and logistics
  • Book accommodations, flights, and associated travel logistics
  • Plan and coordinate social events (e.g. Christmas Party, United Way, Retirement parties)
  • Post and maintain social media platforms and website
  • Recommend, help select, and order promotional items
  • Provide clerical and administrative support as necessary
Human Resources
  • Support managers with hiring (i.e. job descriptions, postings, scheduling interviews, conducting references, and coordinating candidate communication)
  • Coordinate and carry out new hire orientations and associated documentation
  • Create and maintain employee files
  • Maintain and update employee handbooks and HR documentation
  • Carry out and coordinate 3-month HR follow-ups with new employees
  • Coordinate employee performance program
  • Handle apprenticeship enrollment, grants, and refunds (open circle)
  • Coordinate and participate in health and safety meetings; support reporting and claims
  • Carry out compensation market research as needed
  • Prepare HR-related communications and keep relevant communication boards up to date
  • Handle day to day HR responsibilities and address inquiries
  • Lead and support employee wellness and engagement initiatives
  • Carry out other HR duties/projects as required
Payroll & Benefits
  • Administer and process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment and documentation
  • Process monthly benefits invoice
  • Process records of employment
  • Maintain annual WCB remittances
  • Address employee inquires regarding payroll and benefits
  • Accurately maintain employee payroll records
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual payroll documentation (e.g. T4 forms, EI, etc.)
  • Carry out other related payroll duties as required
Required Qualifications Education, Training & Experience
  • At least 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant HR generalist and payroll experience
  • Comprehensive, current working knowledge of and experience with HR legislation, generalist HR functions, and HR best practices
  • Willing to take courses and further HR education if/as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Comprehensive proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Proficiency with a multi-line phone system and general office equipment
  • Strong and personable customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Professional and strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Strong and accurate attention to detail
  • Flexible with a continuous learning mindset
Ideal/Value-Add Qualifications
  • Experience in an office support/administrative role
  • Experience posting on social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram, in addition to basic website updates
  • Knowledge of/experience with Explorer Software for payroll
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year Benefits:
